Two-Billion Children Are Breathing Toxic Air

600-thousand die annually

Lots of fresh air in these parts, but in many places around the world there is not. A report from UNICEF suggests two-billion children in the world are breathing toxic air – most of them in northern India and neighbouring countries. It says 300-million of those kids are exposed to pollution levels six times higher than the standard set by the World Health Organization. Children face much higher health risks from air pollution than adults. They breathe twice as fast, taking in more air in relation to their body weight, while their brains and immune systems are still developing and vulnerable. Click here for more on this story.
