UPDATE: Two Gropings, One Of Two Suspects Charged

Police Investigating Two Similar Occurrences On The Same Day

Sept. 28th – An arrest has been made in connection to one of two groping incidences in Barrie. Police say A 38-year-old man has been charged with Sexual Assault and Indecent Public Act, after investigators determined he was responsible for groping a woman in the Browning Trail and Fox Run area on the night of September 20th. A similar incident earlier that same day in the Toronto and Sophia Streets area has police looking for a second suspect, see the description below.


Sept. 22nd – Barrie Police are investigating two cases of women being groped on the street, but aren’t sure if the incidences are connected. Around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, a woman says she was touched sexually by a man as she walked along Toronto St. near Sophia. Closer to 10:00 on the same day, another woman reported a similar offense in the Browning Trail and Fox Run area. Neither victim was physically injured. The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1:

  • male
  • white
  • around 25-years-old
  • 140-150lbs
  • thin build
  • black hair, receding hairline
  • wearing khaki green hoodie, camo cargo pants, running shoes

Suspect 2:

  • male
  • white
  • 5’8″ – 6’0″
  • thin build
  • full beard, trimmed
  • short brown hair
  • last seen wearing ball cap, short sleeve shirt, running shoes.
