Vehicle Fire Intentional, Say Police

Beeton Man Charged With Setting His Own Truck On Fire

A Beeton man is on the hook after police found a burnt out truck in King Township. Emergency crews were called to the vehicle fire around 2:30 on the morning of February 12th, at 12th Concession and 18th Sideroad. The fire was knocked down in short order, while police say the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that night. Turns out, according to police, it wasn’t stolen, but intentionally set on fire by its owner. A 33-year-old Beeton man is up on charges of Arson Causing Property Damage and Fraud, and Public Mischief, and has an appointment with a Newmarket judge in early November.
