Waypoint Researcher Recognized For Preserving Mental Health Centre’s History

Dr. Jennifer Bazar Awarded For Historical Work

A Waypoint researcher is getting some international accolades. Dr. Jennifer Bazar has received the 2016 Early Career Award from the American Psychological Association. The award recognizes the work of early career scientists that have made significant contribution to psychology and historical studies. Dr. Bazar earned her award through her work in capturing the history of the Oak Ridge Building, resulting in not only a digital archive of the structure, but the revitalization of the Waypoint History Walk. “Dr. Bazar’s knowledge and expertise in the history of psychology made her the perfect person to honour the nearly 160-year history of the hospital and our grounds,” said Howard Barbaree, VP Research and Academics. “Capturing that history ensures we remember the journey we have taken.”
