Weapons & Drugs Seized During Barrie Raid

Mailing Address Tips Police Off To Large Cache Of Weapons

Some drugs and weapons are off Barrie’s streets thanks to Canada’s Border Patrol. The Canadian Border Services Agency says they intercepted a package heading to Barrie that contained a device that modified a firearm into a fully automatic state. Police took a search warrant to the package’s intended address on Lyfytt Crescent in Barrie’s north end, where police say they seized twelve firearms, along with some silencers, prohibited magazines, and about 10,000 rounds of ammo. Along with the weapons, police claim to have found some pot and hash at the home. A 28-year-old man and 59-year-old woman are looking at a slew of charges, while police try to find the reason behind such a large cache of weapons.
