The 21st annual Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival heads into its final weekend. Premiere jazz and blues musicians are playing venues across the city all weekend, including centre stage at Heritage Park on Barrie’s waterfront where tonight it’s the First People’s Concert Series starting at 6p.

The OK Friday Barnfair is today at Burls Creek Event Grounds in Oro. A family friendly, relaxed, cultural environment to shop and socialize. It’s on from 3-8 tonight.

The 33rd annual Tottenham Bluegrass Festival opens today. 3 days of bluegrass music held in the natural amphitheatre of the Tottenham Conservation area.

It’s the 8th Annual Salsa weekend at Blue Mountain, Collingwood. The entire village transforms into a fiesta of fun with music, dancing and a fireworks display over the mountain tomorrow night.

It’s a double header weekend at Sunset Speedway. Tonight all divisions will compete for points and awards, including double features for the late models, green flag drops at 7. Tomorrow it’s the biggest date on the summer schedule as the Nascar Pinty’s Series will turn 300 laps at Sunset Speedway, Innisfil.

 

June 18

Get out on the water with MEC Paddlefest Barrie. Dive into the world of Kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding. It’s a paddling festival with a marketplace and gear swap, demos, clinics and more from Centennial Park at Barrie’s waterfront until 5 today.

Double header weekend for our Barrie Baycats, they’re on the Coates Stadium home diamond tonight hosting Hamilton at 7p. Tomorrow they hit the road for a date in Kitchener.

The 8th Annual Salsa Weekend is at Blue Mountain, Collingwood. The entire village has been transformed into a giant fiesta of fun with food, music, dancing and a giant fireworks display over the mountain tonight at 10p.

The 29th annual Kinsmen Truck Pull and Show & Shine is today at Minden Fairgrounds. The 7th annual ATV Mud Bogs and 2nd Annual Truck Mud Bogs will also add to the action. All proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the local community.

It’s the official opening of the new boardwalk at Midland’s Wyemarsh today, many local dignitaries will be on hand for the ceremony at 2 this afternoon.

The Gravenhurst Car Show goes today from Gull Lake Rotary Park. Over 600 collector cars, live music, activities for the kids and a trip down memory lane.

It’s the Krown Wash for a Wish Car Wash as Krown Rust Control locations across Canada will shoot for a world record of most vehicles washed in a single day. Visit 10 Cross St. in Barrie between 9-2, have your car washed and support the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Take in some LIVE music with Dad during The 21st annual Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival’s final day today. Premiere jazz and blues musicians playing venues across the city, including centre stage at Heritage Park on Barrie’s waterfront where today Wild T and The Spirit will recreate the Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock performance and the Jack De Kyzer Band will have the day’s final performance.Look for our Kool Days of Summer Street Team on location.

Wasaga Beach Waterfront Fest takes over Beach Area 1 today. A big Father’s Day Event with fun for the whole family with paddle boarding, rock climbing, live music and more.

It’s the official Grand Opening of Skydive Wasaga Beach today, with the first jumps taking place this afternoon. It will operate out of Edenvale AeroDrome and you can see the tandem jumpers over the beach before they land at Wasaga Beach Sports Park.

Also, Kitefest brings all kinds of color to the sky in Wasaga Beach. Watch for these along Beach Drive and 3rd Street.

Father’s Day Car Show on in downtown Bracebridge on Manitoba Street, runs from 9a-3.

Tuesday is National Aboriginal Day at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons in Midland. Catch the spirit and join in on the celebration with colorful singers, drummers and dancers. It’s a chance to recognize First Nations culture and heritage.
