Woman Seriously Hurt in Early Morning Rollover

Crash forced closure of County Road 27 at Highway 9

A woman was taken to hospital in Toronto after a single vehicle rollover early this morning on County Road 27 near Highway 9. South Simcoe Police say the driver lost control about 1:30 and veered into a ditch. A passing motorist spotted the wreck a short time later and called it in. Police say speed was a factor in the crash. The driver, a 42-year-old Loretto woman, suffered serious, but not-life threatening injuries. A stretch of County Road 27 was closed through the morning rush as police conducted their investigation, reopening shortly after 10:00 this morning. Police say both speed and alcohol may have played a factor in this crash, and are asking witnesses to call PC Paul Catling at 705-436-2141, extension 2035.
