Young Firestarter Suspect Also Charged With Kicking Police

A young lady will have her day court, after she’s accused of trying to start a fire and kicking a cop. A Cookstown man says he found a teenage girl burning a large amount of paper near his house, claiming she ran off when he tried to catch her. Innisfil Fire took care of the minor blaze, while South Simcoe Police searched for the girl. Officers claim when they found her to arrest her, the 15-year-old suspect kicked an officer several times. She faces Assaulting an Officer and Mischief charges.
