A RECAP OF THE VMA’S

It was an incredible night visually!

Justin Bieber made a triumphant comeback to the MTV VMA stage.

He opened the show by coming down from the ceiling of the Barclays Center then went into a great performance of “Stay” with Kid LAROI and his song “Ghost.”  It was the first time he performed at the show in six years. If that wasn’t enough, he later won artist of the year. Justin took a serious tone in his speech, telling the audience that music has been very important during the COVID pandemic.

Lil Nas X is the king of MTV. The rap superstar not only performed but also took home the top moon person for video of the year for his controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” That was the video that had everyone up in arms over him giving the devil a lap dance. He also beat out some heavy hitters including Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd. In his acceptance speech, the Grammy winner promoted his new album coming out this week and said he won’t take the award for granted.

The MTV VMAs really delivered this year. The music bash celebrated the cable network’s 40th anniversary with performances by Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, and Olivia Rodrigo. But it was the Queen of Pop Madonna who made jaws drop in a leather outfit while introducing Justin’s performance.
