Kool FM, Downtown Barrie BIA, and the Barrie Film Festival bring you Lawn Chair Luminata, a free outdoor movie night at Meridian Place, in Downtown Barrie.
The movie starts at dusk at Meridian Place! Don’t be late! Rain Date is scheduled for the next day.
About Lawn Chair Luminata
In 2007, the Barrie Film Festival held its first outdoor movie screening. It was this event that led to the start of Lawn Chair Luminata in 2008. Celebrating its 17th year, the series runs every Wednesday with family-friendly movies under the stars at Meridian Place.
The movie will begin just after dusk, which means movie times shift throughout the season. If you arrive early, you can take in the Barrie Thunder Classics Car Club display at Heritage Park, which starts at around 5 PM.
What To Bring To An Outdoor Movie
Headed to Lawn Chair Luminata this Wednesday? Here are some items you may want to think about bringing:
- Lawn Chairs – You’re absolutely allowed to bring your own lawn chairs, though they aren’t necessary thanks to the tiered design of Meridian Place. If you do bring chairs, opt for ones with low backs so that everyone can enjoy the show.
- Blankets – Blankets are an excellent alternative to chairs and you can use them to bundle up if you get cold.
- Bug Spray – To help keep those pesky bugs at bay!
- Layers – Comfort is key when watching an outdoor movie so bring a sweater or jacket, and maybe even a pair of long pants for those cool summer nights.
- Snacks – Bring your own or stop by one of the many stores and restaurants to grab a treat before the show.
