The honour of most popular wedding song goes to none other than Whitney Houston’s 1987 classic, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." According to a study by Breezit, an online wedding vendor search tool...

Breezit examined playlists named everything from “Wedding Dancefloor” and “Wedding Party” to “Walking Down the Aisle” and “First Dance Songs.” Across these love-infused compilations, Houston’s hit reigned supreme, beating out other classics and modern favourites. Known for its infectious beat and Houston’s powerful vocals, the Grammy-winning track from her second studio album Whitney has earned its place as a wedding staple.

Following closely behind Houston’s hit is ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” the unforgettable 1976 hit from their Arrivalalbum.

Meanwhile, Usher’s “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris from his album Confessions rounds out the top three – an ideal choice for couples looking to turn up the energy.

Some of the other timeless tunes making the cut include “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers, taking fourth place, and “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, sealing the top five.

The list’s next spots went to popular anthems like “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas, “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé, “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon, and “Low” by Flo Rida.

Why These Songs Stand Out!

What makes these tracks so special? They’re a mix of nostalgia, undeniable rhythm, and lyrics that resonate with joy and celebration. Whether you’re an ‘80s fan or lean toward today’s chart-toppers, these tunes guarantee a packed dance floor and memories for a lifetime. So, if you’re planning your big day, maybe give “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” a spin – you won’t be alone!
