Winona Ryder Enrols at Nevermore: Netflix Levels Up Wednesday Season 3 With a Goth Icon

Winona Ryder is packing her bags and heading straight into the delightfully gloomy chaos of Wednesday Season 3… because apparently Netflix looked at its roster and said, “Yes, more iconic goth energy, please.”
The veteran actor has officially landed a guest role in the next season, reuniting yet again with longtime creative partner Tim Burton. At this point, their collaborations feel less like projects and more like a cinematic family reunion where everyone just happens to dress in black.
Ryder and Burton first joined forces on the cult favourite Beetlejuice back in 1988, then doubled down with the beautifully weird Edward Scissorhands in 1990.
Most recently, they teamed up again for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, where Ryder shared the screen with Wednesday herself, Jenna Ortega, playing her on-screen mother. Yes, the casting symmetry is almost suspiciously perfect.
Details about Ryder’s role are locked up tighter than a CRA audit file, but one thing is obvious. Netflix is clearly not done with her. She’s barely wrapped the fifth and final season of Stranger Things and already has a fresh seat at the streaming giant’s favourite spooky table.

The series itself pulls from the darkly charming world created by Charles Addams, with Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Burton steering the creative ship.
Translation for the rest of us: expect moody lighting, razor-sharp deadpan, and at least one moment where Ryder appears onscreen, and the internet collectively says, “Well, this just got cooler.”
