NETFLIX IS BEING SUED OVER KPOP DEMON HUNTERS 🎤⚖️

Netflix has a new battle on its hands, and this one involves K-pop, Christian metal, and a very confused family with $500 worth of concert tickets.

The Christian metal band Demon Hunter is suing Netflix over its massive animated hit KPop Demon Hunters, claiming the name is creating confusion with the band's longtime brand.

And Demon Hunter isn't exactly new.

The band has been around for roughly 25 years, releasing albums, touring, and selling merchandise long before anyone was singing along with Rumi, Mira, and Zoey.

The lawsuit argues the problem has become much bigger now that KPop Demon Hunters has expanded beyond the Netflix movie into music, merchandise, and an upcoming world concert tour in 2027.

Basically, Demon Hunter says Netflix has wandered directly into its neighbourhood.

And apparently, there IS some confusion.

According to the lawsuit, one parent allegedly spent nearly $500 on tickets to a Demon Hunter concert in New York, thinking they were buying tickets to KPop Demon Hunters for themselves and their five- and six-year-old daughters.

Imagine that car ride.

"Girls! We're going to see KPop Demon Hunters!"

Two hours later...

"Dad... why is everyone wearing black and screaming?"

The band is asking a court to stop Netflix and its partners from using the KPop Demon Hunters name in connection with music, merchandise, and live entertainment. They're also seeking damages.

Netflix, meanwhile, says the allegations are “without merit” and plans to fight the lawsuit.

And there is a LOT of money and attention attached to this franchise.

Netflix says KPop Demon Hunters has racked up more than 600 million views since its 2025 debut, while its soundtrack has generated more than 15 billion streams worldwide.

So now it'll be up to the courts to decide whether Demon Hunter and KPop Demon Hunters are simply two very different things with similar names...

Or whether there's enough overlap to cause genuine confusion.

Although if you're buying concert tickets for your kindergarten-aged daughters...
