Nominations Open!

Nominations for the Barrie Arts Awards opened on July 17 and remain open until Tuesday, September 12 at 11:59pm. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses for one of six awards: Most Promising Youth, Artist Beyond Barriers, Excellence in the Arts, Emerging Artist, Contribution to the Community, or Business Champion.

About the Awards

The Economic and Creative Development Department and members of the Barrie arts sector will celebrate the many successes of the past year and present six individuals with hand-carved award statuettes designed by local artist Nic Rodrigo at the 2023 Barrie Arts Awards.

The Barrie Arts Awards plays an important role in our arts community, fostering the growth of the arts and culture sector by raising its profile and providing it with well-deserved recognition. The awards celebrate contributions made by our local talent, encourage artists to reach their full potential, and ultimately further the economic strength and artistic vibrancy of our community.
