Fashion’s Newest Trend is… Butt Cleavage?

From backless skirts to peek-a-boo pants, designers are putting the crack in high fashion, and celebrities are leading the charge.
The ‘Butt-Crack as an Accessory’ Era
At the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, Zoë Kravitz turned heads in a Saint Laurent gown featuring sheer paneling that left little to the imagination. Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner rocked a 1999 Givenchy archival dress at last year’s Met Gala, giving fans a glimpse of some unexpected cleavage—butt cleavage.
And if the red carpet wasn’t enough, this season’s catwalks have fully embraced the trend. Diesel and Alexander McQueen sent models down the runway in "bumster" jeans—ultra-low-rise denim that dips below the tailbone.

Plumber Crack Chic?
Not everyone is ready to embrace this trend, though. After Vogue posted a TikTok featuring Diesel’s daring designs, one commenter pleaded:
“PLEASE do not make plumber cracks a trend. I do not want to live in that world.”
Another added:
“Low-rise jeans: yes. Plumber cracks: no.”
Whether this style is fashion-forward or just fashion-fail, one thing’s certain—this trend is quite the crack-up.
