Madonna is Releasing a New Vinyl Collection Featuring 10 of her Biggest Hits

Madonna is putting some of her biggest hits back on vinyl, and this one is definitely aimed at collectors.

The Queen of Pop will release a newly curated version of her greatest-hits collection Celebration on December 11, featuring 10 songs spanning the first 25 years of her career.

The new collection will be released as a single LP through Rhino Records and pressed on translucent light-blue vinyl.

For serious Madonna collectors, there will also be a limited red-and-pink splatter vinyl edition available exclusively through Madonna's official store and Rhino Records.

Both versions will include an 11-inch by 11-inch poster.

A Much Smaller Version of Celebration

The original Celebration was released in 2009 and was considerably bigger. That collection featured 36 tracks and was released in multiple formats, including a two-CD set and a four-LP vinyl edition. There was also a shorter 18-track version.

Madonna and her fans helped select the songs included on the original release, which went on to sell approximately four million copies worldwide and topped the charts in several countries.

This time, the collection has been trimmed down to just 10 songs, offering a much quicker trip through Madonna's first quarter-century of hits. The new Celebration vinyl arrives December 11, just in time for Christmas.

And let's be clear. Nobody actually needs another copy of Madonna's greatest hits. But put it on translucent blue vinyl and suddenly we're all standing there saying:

“Well... this one is different.”
