Published November 15, 2023

The news of Matthew Perry's passing sent shockwaves through the hearts of fans worldwide. But for his fellow Friends castmates, it was a deeply personal loss. Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox took to social media to share their memories and pay tribute to their friend and colleague.

LeBlanc's post struck a particularly emotional chord. He spoke of Perry's struggles with addiction, acknowledging his freedom now that he's passed. More importantly, LeBlanc emphasized the deep bond they shared.

“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favourite times of my life,” LeBlanc wrote in an Instagram post. “It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.” The farewell included a carousel of images. Each showed the two actors and friends the set throughout the show's10-year run.

LeBlanc even managed to inject a touch of Chandler Bing humor, ending the post with “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Cox's tribute offered a glimpse into the immense respect and affection the cast had for each other. Working on a show for ten seasons fosters a unique connection, and Cox's "thousands of moments" speaks volumes about the depth of their bond. Sharing a favorite clip with fans was a heartwarming way to celebrate Perry's comedic genius and the joy he brought to audiences.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day." Her post continues, “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favourites.” she wrote alongside a clip from the hit show.

Her post explained, "In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind."

The remaining cast members have not yet made a public statement.
