Bradford Budget Comes With Slight Property Tax Increase

Budget earmarks money for new firefighters and trees

Bradford’s council has given the nod to a budget that comes with a less-than one per cent tax increase. The 2016 Bradford West Gwillimbury budget increases the property tax levy by a mere 0.48%, meaning for about an extra $70 a year on an average home. Aside from the usual infrastructure spending, the budget also includes money for two new full-time firefighters and additional funding for the town’s urban forestry program.
