Driver Charged After Wheel Hit The Road Near Bradford

An Orangeville man is looking at charges over a runaway wheel. Around 3:00 yesterday afternoon, a motorist on Highway 88 near the 400 had to take evasive action to avoid being hit by a 40-pound wheel. Police were called in, who tracked down where the wheel came from, a trailer being pulled by a large truck. The 22-year-old truck driver had his ride inspected, where police say it was found the wheel was improperly secured. The driver is looking at charges including Driving Under Suspension, while the company he works for is also on the hook for some safety violations.
