Health Warning For Men Who Wake Up For 30 Minutes or More During the Night!
Waking up in the night is a regular occurrence for some of us, but a new study shows that it can indicate a troubling health problem.
The study, which was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, found that men who woke up for at least half an hour in the night were up to 20% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Symptoms of Prostate Cancer:
Your sleeping pattern alone can’t indicate your prostate cancer risk. According to the NHS, symptoms of prostate cancer can include:
- needing to pee more frequently, often during the night
- needing to rush to the toilet
- difficulty in starting to pee (hesitancy)
- straining or taking a long time while peeing
- weak flow
- feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully
- blood in urine or blood in semen
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have prostate cancer, but it’s important to visit your GP if you have any concerns.
It also reinforces other, previous studies, such as one that found that of 2,000 middle-aged adults reporting sleep loss, those who slept less became more prone to irritability, anxiety, respiratory issues, and gastrointestinal issues.
For a better sleep, there are foods you should avoid:
- Chocolate
- Oranges
- Grapefruit
- Onions
- Garlic
- Carbonated drinks
- Spicy food
- Alcohol
- Tea
- Coffee
- Processed food
