June 10

Relay For Life is a leading fundraiser supporting the Canadian Cancer Society and tonight is the Alliston event. From 6-midnight at Alliston Fairgrounds groups and teams of friends, family & co-workers come together in the fight against cancer. Rock 95 will be on location. More info here.

Innisfil Summerfest has arrived once again. Innisfil Beach Park is home to a big lineup of live entertainment starting tonight, the midway and vendors will be open at 5pm today.

The OK Friday Barnfair is back today at Burls Creek Event Ground in Oro. A fun, family friendly, relaxed cultural environment to shop and socialize. It’s on from 3-8 tonight.

21st Annual Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival opened yesterday and continues through the 20th. Many of Canada’s premiere jazz/blues performers will be playing throughout Barrie, Bradford, Midland, Orillia and even Georgina.

The Canadian Long Drive Finals qualifying round begins today at Tangle Creek, as the longest hitters in golf compete to become the Canadian Long Drive Champion.

Now in its 28th year, The Spring Boat & Cottage Show opens today at the Port of Orillia. Great opportunity to buy or sell your boat. From kayaks to yachts, cottage, outdoor and boating equipment supplies. Lots of free parking and free admission to the show this weekend, it’s open until 8p tonight.

The 152nd Haliburton County Fair opens today from Minden Fairgrounds.

Commemorating the 100th Ann of CFB Borden and the 72nd Ann of D-Day it’s the Base Borden Canadian Armed Forces Day and Air Show. Running from 9-5, air traffic will be busy from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the Canadian Forces Parachute team and lots to see with the Military Displays at Base Borden today and tomorrow. http://www.bordenairshow.ca/welcome.html

The Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival is filling venues throughout our city with amazing performances from premiere jazz and blues musicians.

Barrie Baycats Baseball today from the home diamond at Coates Stadium, hosting Kitchener under the lights tonight 7pm first pitch.

Wheels & Tracks in Motion starts today at the Simcoe County Museum. Featuring historical construction equipment and 2 days of steam, sun and sand

Build and Burn Community Safety Day with the Simcoe Homebuilders Association. Fun for the whole family starting at 10 this morning, with a free BBQ lunch from 11-2 at 10 Sauders Rd. Barrie.

Blue Mountain is ground zero today for Met Con Blue. Participants are released in waves, attacking a course filled with 18 hardcore obstacles, from ice pools, crossing creeks, rocks and running through fire over an 8km distance where 66% of the course is an uphill climb.

The Amazing Race Oro-Medonte is happening today at Woodwind Farm. Where teams will follow clues to local businesses where they will complete timed challenges.

The Kid’s Fishing Derby and Bike Rodeo is happening this morning in the Midland Harbour.

In Parry Sound it’s the 15th Annual Dragon Boat Festival from Waubuno Beach.

The Ontario Lumberjack Championships are happening at the Beaverton Fairgrounds.

South, King City Memorial Park is hosting the Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival… Featuring Hollerado in concert! A full day of live music, on until 930 tonight.

Saturday night short track racing tonight at Sunset Speedway. The Nascar Whelen Series late models hit the track for along with a full lineup. Racing starts at 6p. Double-header weekend as tomorrow it’s the APC Pro Late Model 100.

Double-header weekend continues at Sunset Speedway, it’s a big one today with the visiting APC Pro Late Model series going the distance of a 100 lap feature. The Cdn Vintage Modifieds Series will also make a special appearance. The opening green flag drops at 1.

A Canadian Long Drive Champion will be crowned today at Tangle Creek. The longest hitters in golf are also competing for a spot at the World Long Drive Finals.

The Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes runs out of Centennial Park on Barrie’s Waterfront this morning.

Tomorrow night, Mumford & Sons are performing LIVE at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.
