August is the busiest month of the year for vehicle break ins. South Simcoe Police would like to remind car owners to lock it or loose it. Police say cars are usually targeted in the early morning hours and thieves looking for an easy grab check for open doors. They will grab anything visible. Spare change, wallet or cell phone. Police say if the door is locked they leave and move onto the next one. South Simcoe police say the easiest way to protect yourself is to park in a well lit area, don’t leave valuables inside your vehicle and make sure the doors are locked. They also ask that if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood that you call police right away.
