Minden Woman Convicted After Animals Found In Distress

A Minden woman has been found guilty of failing to properly take care of the animals on her property. The charges date back to April 2014 when complaints were filed and the Ontario SPCA inspected the woman’s home. Inspectors found several dogs severely matted with fecal matter caked in their fur, one had an open wound on its side, a horse and donkey had overgrown hoofs that made it difficult for them to walk. Many of the animals were found to be in distress. As a result of the guilty verdict the woman is not allowed to own, have custody or care of , or live with an animal for 15 years – with the exceoption of a canine therapy dog owned and cared for by a relative.
