Here’s a sophisticated twist on a typical scam. Barrie Police say someone returned a few pricey hard drives to a Staples store in town, back on February 17th. The guy had the receipt too, and everything looked legit. It wasn’t until later, when a technician opened up the products to check them out. That’s when investigators say it was discovered the internal components of these hard drives were replaced with the dime-store version. The suspect is described as;
- Asian decent
- 20-25 yrs.
- black hair
- Stocky build, 5’5”
- Wearing a black jacket and dark pants
