Newmarket Identity Theft Suspect Sought By Police

Over $40,000 Obtained Through Stolen Identity

12-18 id theft suspectNewmarket police are looking to put a stop to an identity thief. York Regional Police started investigating on November 17th, after a victim reported his boss had been contacted about a loan the victim had never applied for. Investigators found a suspect had gotten various forms of identification in the victim’s name, along with some bank accounts and credit cards. Thus far, police believe the suspect has committed fraud to the tune of $40,000. He is described as:

  • black male
  • 30 to 40 years of age
  • 5’11”
  • about 185lbs

  • blue shirt
  • black jacket
