5 Easy Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to get creative with your little ones! Whether you're looking for a fun afternoon activity or a homemade gift idea, these five easy crafts will make your Valentine's celebration extra special.
1. Handprint Heart Cards
A classic and adorable keepsake! Fold a piece of cardstock in half and have your child dip their hand in red or pink paint. Press both hands down with thumbs touching to create a heart shape. Once dry, let them decorate with glitter, stickers, or a sweet message inside for a personalized touch. Don't forget to add the year so you can remember how little their hands once were.
2. Love Bug Rock Painting
Turn ordinary rocks into cute love bugs! Find some smooth rocks and paint them in red, pink, or purple. Once dry, add googly eyes, pipe cleaner antennas, and black paint spots to create little ladybug-style love bugs. These make adorable decorations or gifts for friends and family.
3. Paper Plate Heart Wreath
Cut out the center of a paper plate to create a ring. Have your child cut or tear red, pink, and white construction paper into heart shapes. Glue the hearts around the plate to create a wreath. Add a ribbon for easy hanging on a door or wall.
4. DIY Heart Stamps
Use empty toilet paper rolls to make heart-shaped stamps! Simply bend one side of the roll inward to form a heart, dip it in paint, and stamp onto paper to create a fun Valentine’s design. Great for homemade wrapping paper or cards!
5. Candy Heart Bracelets
For a fun (and tasty) craft, string conversation hearts or fruit-flavored cereal onto elastic string to make sweet bracelets. Perfect for little hands and a great fine motor skill activity!
