5 Easy St. Patrick’s Day Crafts to Do with Kids

St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect excuse to break out the glue sticks, glitter, and all things green!
If you’re looking for fun (and low-stress) ways to get into the Irish spirit with your little leprechauns, here are five super easy St. Patrick’s Day crafts that will keep them entertained—without leaving you buried in a mess of craft supplies.
Cotton Ball Shamrock
Pin cotton balls on clothespins to use as paint brushes, one for each colour of the rainbow. Cut out a big shamrock shape and tape to another piece of paper. Let the kids dap the different coloured cotton balls all over the paper, and let dry. Once completely dry, remove the shamrock piece of paper to reveal your artwork.
Leprechaun Hats
Transform empty toilet paper rolls into adorable mini leprechaun hats! Paint them green, glue on a black paper band, and add a gold buckle (cut from foil or yellow paper). These make cute table decorations or even tiny hats for stuffed animals.

Rainbow Paper Chain
Grab some colorful construction paper, cut it into strips, and let the kids create a simple paper chain in the colors of the rainbow! Link them together with tape or glue, and hang them up as festive decor. Bonus points if you add a pot of gold (a.k.a. a small black paper cup filled with gold-wrapped chocolates) at the end of the rainbow!

Shamrock Sponge Painting
Cut a sponge into the shape of a heart, dip it in green paint, and let your little artists go wild! To make a shamrock, use the heart design in 3 or four hearts connected together by bottom points. This is a great way for even the youngest kids to create some St. Paddy’s Day magic. Use different shades of green to add texture and dimension to their shamrock masterpieces.
Pot of Gold Handprint Art
Draw a pot of gold on a piece of paper, then dip your kid's hand in red paint and stick it to the far side of the paper, away from the pot of gold. Then repeat with all of the colours of the rainbow making the handprints get closer and closer to the pot of gold. A keepsake and a craft all in one!
