McDonald's Canada is Testing a New McVeggie Burger

McDonald's Canada is stepping up its plant-based game, testing the McVeggie at select locations in British Columbia, Ontario, and New Brunswick.
The McVeggie patty is breaded and made from a mix of carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli, and corn. It’s served on a toasted sesame bun, topped with shredded lettuce and sauce, and will be available in both regular and spicy habanero varieties.

This marks McDonald’s latest attempt to appeal to vegetarians and flexitarians after past plant-based options failed to gain traction. The PLT (Plant, Lettuce, and Tomato), featuring a Beyond Meat patty, was tested in 2019 and 2020 across Ontario but was eventually scrapped.
Will the McVeggie finally be the meat-free burger that sticks? Only time (and Canadian taste buds) will tell!
