Wed Nov 4 – Five people – four men and a woman – have been charged with Manslaughter in the September death of a man who was found beaten in Bradford. They are also facing charges of Assault Causing bodily Harm and Assault with a Weapon. Fifty-six year old James McCallen suffered severe head injuries in the attack and died two weeks later at hospital; his son was treated for a broken arm and ligament damage. Charges against a sixth person have been dropped.
Sat Sep 26 – A sixth person has been charged in the death of a Bradford man. South Simcoe Police say a 20 year old Mississauga man turned himself in Friday. he has been charged with Manslaughter, Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. The 56 year old man was found September 12, on Centre Street, suffering from severe head injuries. He died of those injuries September 24. The investigation by South Simcoe Police is ongoing. Fri Sep 25 – A 56 year old man who suffered severe head injuries in attack in Bradford two weekends has died of his injuries. His adult son is recovering from a broken arm and ligament damage he sustained in the attack. Five people, from the Bradford-area, Newmarket and North York have been charged with of Aggravated Assault, Assault With A Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. South Simcoe Police will be consulting the Crown Attorney regarding an upgrade of the charges. The investigation by South Simcoe Police is ongoing.
