Conan O’Brien Set to Host the Oscars Again in 2026

Published March 18, 2025

Conan O’Brien is coming back for round two as host of the 98th Academy Awards in 2026! 🎤✨

After his successful hosting debut this year, which brought in the biggest Oscars audience in five years, ABC and the Academy are sticking with the late-night legend.

The 97th Oscars pulled in an estimated 19.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched primetime entertainment event of 2025.

Not only did O’Brien boost younger viewership (thanks to mobile and laptop streams), but the show dominated social media, outperforming even the Grammy Awards and the Super Bowl in engagement.

The 2025 Oscars also marked the first time the show was streamed live on Hulu, though it wasn’t without some technical hiccups. Here’s hoping next year’s show runs even smoother—with plenty of Conan’s signature humour to keep things lively. 🍿🏆
