Drew Barrymore Postpones Daytime Talk Show Until After The Writer’s Strike

Drew received a lot of criticism for her announcement that she would go ahead with a new season of her talk show without the writers, explaining that the show was “bigger than her” and other people relied on the show for employment.
Drew took to social media to say that she’ll wait until the labour issues are resolved. Hours later CBS’ “The Talk” did the same.
“I have listened to everyone, and I am deciding to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” Barrymore posted on Instagram on Sunday. “I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today.”
The ongoing strike pits the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents Disney, Netflix, Amazon and others.
Those shows that are running like “The View” are not allowed to discuss or promote work covered by television, theatrical or streaming contracts. The Network Code also covers reality TV, sports, morning news shows, soap operas and game shows.
