From Keswick to the Stanley Cup: Sean Walker Brings Hockey’s Biggest Trophy Home

For one day, the most famous trophy in hockey wasn’t just in an arena or being held above a player’s head after a championship win — it was right here in our backyard.

And as someone who grew up in Keswick, this one feels extra special.

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Sean Walker brought the Stanley Cup back to the community where his hockey journey began, creating unforgettable memories for young fans, hospital patients, and everyone lucky enough to see one of sports’ most iconic trophies up close.

Walker’s first stop was Southlake Health, where he visited pediatric patients, including kids receiving care at the POGO Pediatric Oncology Clinic. He spent time signing autographs, taking photos, and sharing a little bit of championship magic with families and staff.
