Hamnet’ and ‘One Battle After Another’ Take Top Honours at the Golden Globes

Fresh faces, big laughs, and a few history-making moments
The Golden Globe Awards kicked off awards season in style, and by the end of the night, two titles were clearly leading the pack: Hamnet and One Battle After Another.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took over the Beverly Hilton on January 11, 2026, with Nikki Glaser returning as host and fully committing to the chaos.
Nikki Glaser Did Not Hold Back
Glaser opened the night with a sharp monologue packed with big laughs and risky jabs, including jokes about the Epstein Files and a running gag that “awarded” the Golden Globe for Best Editing to the Justice Department.
She also poked fun at the network airing the show, dubbing CBS “See B.S. News,” which immediately set the tone for a no-mercy evening.
Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t spared either, as Glaser teased his famously discussed dating habits, proving once again that no A-lister is truly safe at an awards show.
Later in the night, Glaser leaned fully into musical theatre energy, performing a playful parody of Golden in honour of Marty Supreme. Props were involved. Commitment was high. The crowd loved it.
She closed the show on a warmer note, paying tribute to the late Rob Reiner with a nod to This Is Spinal Tap, declaring, “This one went to 11.” Equal parts heartfelt and funny.
