Katy Perry Is Going to Space with an All-Women Crew

Published February 28, 2025

The pop star is one of six women set to make history on Blue Origin’s next spaceflight, making it the first all-female crewed mission since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo spaceflight in 1963.

Who's on Board?

The mission, called NS-31, is set to launch from West Texas in spring 2025 (exact date TBD). Alongside Perry, the crew includes:

  • Gayle King – CBS Mornings co-host
  • Lauren Sánchez – Jeff Bezos’ fiancée and the mastermind behind assembling the team
  • Aisha Bowe – Bahamian-American aerospace engineer
  • Amanda Nguyen – Civil rights activist
  • Kerianne Flynn – Film producer

What’s the Mission?

The 11-minute journey will send the crew aboard New Shepard past the Kármán line—the internationally recognized boundary of space.

They’ll experience a few minutes of weightlessness and take in breathtaking views of Earth through Blue Origin’s massive panoramic windows (which cover more than a third of the capsule's surface).

While Katy Perry won’t be performing a zero-gravity concert (as far as we know), she’ll be making history. And who knows? Maybe E.T. will finally get an official music video… from space! 🌍✨
