Barrie Police are ramping up their distracted driving campaign as the Easter Long Weekend approaches. They intend to raise awareness associated with the many distractions while on the road. Distractions qualify as cell phone use, using a GPS, IPOD, watching movies and reading. Police remind drivers it is against the law to drive while distracted and it can lead to a fine of $490 and 3 points on your license. Novice Drivers can face license suspensions and a removal from the graduated licensing system.
