Taylor Swift celebrates 'Cruel Summer' hitting number one: 'It's not even summer, it's deep fall’
If at this point you still haven’t realized that it’s Taylor Swift’s world and we’re just living in it, here’s another reason to help solidify that point. Her most recent accomplishment includes officially joining the elite club of artists with 10 or more No.1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
With “Cruel Summer” ascending from No. 9 to the top spot, it officially becomes the tenth of her songs to do so. The track, which was originally released on Swift’s 2019 album Lover and peaked at No. 3, has since gained new prominence due to the superstar's Eras Tour and subsequent film.
“IT’S COOL,” Taylor wrote on X, thanking her fans for helping her gain the achievement with a video message alongside her collaborator and friend Jack Antonoff. “We just want to say thank you so much for making ‘Cruel Summer’ a Billboard Hot 100 No.1,” Taylor said. “And it’s not even the summer anymore, it’s deep fall,” she added pulling at her brown sweater, which she noted she was wearing, “we love you guys,” she said to conclude the clip, followed by a cute little scream.
