Brazen Daytime Theft and FraudOn Sunday, September 10th, 2017 between 10:30am and 11:50am an unknown male attended the Barrie Free Methodist Church parking lot located at 284 Cundles Road East, in the City of Barrie, and smashed out a car window.  Once access was gained to the vehicle, the suspect stole multiple items including sports equipment, an iPod and a wallet with debit card.  The card was used ten times at two local convenience stores before 11:00am. Police are continuing their investigation at this time and wish for anyone who may have information to please contact PC S Campbell of the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025 ext. 2714 or email at Any information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave an anonymous tip online at


Yesterday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 12:30 pm officers from the Street Crime Unit of the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), working with officers from the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, stopped a vehicle on Demoe Road to further an on-going investigation. Arrested and charged are a 28-year-old of no fixed address, and a 39-year-old Lindsay man. The pair face a mix of Trafficking and Possession charges.
