THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW HAD NAMES 🤯

There's a list going viral online revealing the actual names for everyday things most of us have never bothered naming.

Because apparently “that little white thingy” isn't scientifically acceptable.

Here are a few:

1. CHALAZA
The little white stringy cord that holds an egg yolk in place. Otherwise known as the thing you stare at for 30 seconds wondering, “Is this egg okay?”

2. CHAD
Those tiny circles of paper left behind by a hole punch. If you're old enough to remember the 2000 Bush-Gore election, you already know WAY too much about hanging chads.

3. OCTOTHORPE
The proper name for the # symbol. Before social media, we called it the pound sign. Now apparently it's an octothorpe. Pick a lane, tiny waffle.

4. RASCETA
Those little creases across the inside of your wrist. Finally! A name for something I've never once needed to discuss.

5. KNURLING
The crisscross texture on barbells and other metal handles that helps you grip. I personally call it “the part of the gym equipment I walk past.”

6. LUNULA
The little pale half-moon at the bottom of your fingernail. At my age, I'm just happy the nail is still attached.

7. GLABELLA
The smooth area between your eyebrows. Or after 45...the place where three separate wrinkles have formed a homeowners' association.

8. DRUPELETS
Those tiny little bumps that make up a raspberry. Which sounds less like fruit anatomy... and more like a children's cereal nobody asked for.

So there you go. Eight new words to casually drop into conversation today...and immediately become the most annoying person at work.
