A Piece of Titanic History Just Sold for Nearly $1 Million 😳🚢

More than a century after the RMS Titanic sinking, pieces of its story are still making waves… and wallets noticeably lighter.
A life jacket worn by survivor Laura Mabel Francatelli has just sold at auction for a jaw-dropping £670,000 (about $900,000 CAD-ish). Yes — nearly a million bucks for a life jacket.

Why This One Matters
This isn’t just any old flotation device. It was worn during the actual escape from the sinking ship, and it’s signed by Francatelli and other survivors from the same lifeboat.
Basically, it’s not just an artifact — it’s a time capsule from one of the most famous disasters in history.
Not the Only Big Sale
The auction, run by Henry Aldridge & Son, had more Titanic treasures up for grabs:
- A lifeboat seat cushion went for about $500K
- Other rare items also blew past expectations
People are clearly still fascinated by Titanic history… and willing to pay serious money to own a piece of it.
The Record Still Stands
Even with that massive price tag, it’s not the most expensive Titanic item ever sold. That title still belongs to a gold pocket watch gifted to the captain of the rescue ship RMS Carpathia, which fetched close to $2 million in 2024.
The Big Picture
It’s wild to think something worn in a moment of survival over 100 years ago is now sitting in someone’s private collection. History doesn’t just live in museums anymore… sometimes it ends up on a very expensive shelf.
