Canadian Swimmer Maggie Mac Neil Wins Best Female Athlete of Tokyo 2020 Award
Swimmer Maggie Mac Neil. 21, won hearts around the world when she squinted hard to see the results of her 100m butterfly race during the Tokyo Olympics. She had won gold but, without her glasses, she was one of the last to realise it!
At her first-ever Olympic games, Mac Neil, from London Ontario, won 3 medals for Canada at the Tokyo Olympics. Along with gold in the 100m butterfly, she took home silver as Mac Neil first competed as part of the Canadian team for the 4×100 m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4×100 m medley relay.
On Sunday (Oct. 24th) Maggie Mac Neil was named Best Female Athlete of Tokyo 2020 on Sunday by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) in Greece.

Marathon gold medallist Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya won Best Male Athlete after defending his title at the Tokyo Olympics.
The New Zealand rugby sevens squad won Best Female Team and the Japanese baseball team that beat the U.S. for gold won Best Male Team.
