Shrek 5 is Finally Happening And The Internet Has Opinions

It's a day millennials have been waiting well over 10 years for... Shrek 5 is FINALLY HAPPENING!!

That's right, you read that right, Skrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona, and the gang are going to be back on the big screen! (cue the nostalgic meltdown here)

What’s the Story About?

We don't have a lot of information about the plot right now, but we DO know that Shrek and his family are back in the swamp. and that Shrek's daughter is going to be voiced by Zendaya! Here's the trailer:

Shrek’s New Look: Is It Weird?

One thing we do know is what the animation looks like. It would appear that the lovable ogre has a new look which is making a lot of people nervous. People who grew up with the old movies (yep, that's us millennials) have... well... opinions:

Will It Be as Funny as the Old Movies?

One thing we all want is for Shrek 5 to be funny. The Shrek movies are famous for making both kids and adults laugh with their silly jokes and clever references. We’re all hoping Shrek 5 won’t try too hard to be “cool” or “modern” but will still keep that Shrek humor we loved.

Fans also hope that some of our favorite characters, like Puss in Boots, will return and get into more funny adventures. We can’t wait to see what crazy situations Shrek and his friends will get into this time!

Final Thoughts: Bring on the Green!

As a millennial that grew up with Shrek, I have to say that I'm super excited to see my favourite ogre back on the big screen! (I don't even notice a difference in the animation)

No matter how you feel about the movie, Shrek 5 has a lot to live up to, but if it’s funny, heartfelt, and full of adventure, it could be awesome.

And hey, if Shrek 5 doesn’t turn out exactly how we hope, at least we’ll always have the original Shrek movies to remember!
