Rock legend Joan Jett is stepping away from the stage for a little while after undergoing surgery for a fractured vertebrae.

The 67-year-old singer has been forced to cancel two upcoming tour dates as she focuses on recovery, according to a statement shared by her team on Instagram.

Jett hasn't revealed how the injury happened, but it comes after an incredibly busy few months on the road. Since May, the "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" icon has been touring extensively, including a major European run and the Blackhearts' first U.K. tour in 16 years.
