Should Elementary school kids get homework?
Elizabeth Ballantyne School in Montreal has banned homework!
In the past, these kids did receive quite a bit of homework but the principal Michael Brown says that assigning students with large amounts of work didn’t help with the learning process….
“The best kind of homework is eating healthy, getting a good night’s sleep and being ready for the next day of school,” Brown told CBC News.
The Principal added, that the standards of elementary school haven’t changed, kids are expected to do their work in class, but back in the day, elementary kids didn’t really get homework- so why push it upon them now?
Mr Brown is suggesting that parents still read at night with their kids and spend some time online with school approved websites.
