R.I.P.

The frontman for the Canadian Hall of Fame band has died, confirms his publicist Eric Alter.

The cause of death is not being shared at this time, nor are funeral arrangements.

“Myles Goodwyn’s voice is as distinctive and immediately recognizable as his songwriting skills are prolific,” Alper said Sunday on the social media site X.

April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010, while Goodwyn was the recipient of the National Achievement Award at the 2003 SOCAN Awards and an East Coast Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

The band picked up 11 Juno nominations, while Goodwyn also earned a nomination for his 2018 release Myles Goodwyn and Friends of the Blues.

Goodwyn stopped touring with the band this year, playing his final April Wine show on March 2 in Truro, N.S.
