A Couple of A-List Celebrities Will Present at the Oscars

The 97th Academy Awards are moving forward despite the recent devastating wildfires that hit Los Angeles.
The Academy has pledged its support to help the film community recover while still hosting its annual celebration of cinema. Here’s everything you need to know about the big night:
When Are the Oscars?
The ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific and broadcast live on ABC.
For the first time, Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars. Known for his quick wit and charm, the former late-night host is sure to bring a fresh vibe to the show.
A Night of Reflection and Celebration
While the Academy has promised to honour the work that unites the film industry, they will also pay tribute to those affected by the fires. However, some traditional events—like the annual nominees' luncheon—have been cancelled due to the circumstances.
Star-Studded Presenter Lineup
This year’s show will be packed with famous faces. Selena Gomez, Oprah Winfrey, Goldie Hawn, Ben Stiller, Ana de Armas, Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp, and Connie Nielsen have all been added to the lineup.
They’ll join previously announced presenters like Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb, and Bowen Yang. Last year’s acting winners—Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph—will also make an appearance.
