The Price of Wanderlust
The amount people would need to pack up their lives varies by age:
- Gen Z: Ready to go for $211,000
- Boomers: Wouldn’t leave home for less than $335,000
Interestingly, 32% of respondents said they’d need over $500,000 to feel financially secure enough to prioritize travel full-time.

The survey also asked respondents how they’d spend $1 million if it magically landed in their laps:
- Take family or friends on a dream vacation (37%)
- Road-trip across a country (24%)
- Visit famous landmarks (21%)
- Explore historical sites or world wonders (19%)
- Tick off a travel bucket list (18%)
- Frequent weekend getaways (18%)
- Slow travel (months in one location) (18%)
- Luxury accommodations (17%)
- Extended stay in a dream destination (15%)
- Luxury cruises (13%)
- Volunteer or give back while travelling (12%)
- Immersive cultural experiences (11%)
- Travel to every continent (11%)
- Private jet travel (8%)
People’s travel goals range from exploring ancient wonders to living the luxury life in five-star hotels.
