JetBlue Will Pay You Back for a Rainy Vacation—Here’s How

JetBlue Vacations is making sure bad weather doesn’t ruin your getaway. The airline has teamed up with WeatherPromise to offer reimbursements for vacations that get hit with “significant rainfall.”
Jamie Perry, president of JetBlue Travel, says vacations should be fun, not stressful. “We know how important vacations are, and by offering coverage against weather disruptions, we’re ensuring our customers can focus on enjoying their trips with confidence and peace of mind.”
The offer applies to customers who book eligible “Flight + Hotel vacation packages” through JetBlue Vacations. It even covers extras like rental cars and activities.

So, how does it work? WeatherPromise, a tech startup that launched last year, uses historical weather data, trip length, and destination details to track rainfall. If your vacation meets the threshold for “significant rainfall,” you get reimbursed automatically—no paperwork needed!
Daniel Price, co-founder of WeatherPromise, says the goal is to bring “humanity” back to air travel. And science backs up the idea that weather can make or break a trip—a study from the National Institutes of Health found that rain and snow have a negative effect on travel satisfaction, while sunny skies make for a better mood.
