Amazing!

The 30th season of Dancing with the Stars premieres on Sept. 20, and pop star JoJo Siwa will make some history along the way.

Jojo, an 18-year old who identifies as gay and queer, will compete as part of the first same-sex pairing on DWTS. “I think it breaks a wall that’s never been broken down before,” JoJo says.

Tyra Banks, the host of DWTS, says she’s ‘proud of JoJo and the show for allowing the pairing to happen.

The second contestant to be announced, coming off a stellar performance at the Tokyo Olympics, U.S. gymnast Suni Lee will now test her floor skills doing the cha-cha and other routines with a professional dance partner.

The 18-year-old St. Paul native took home a gold medal in the women’s gymnastics all-around event, a silver medal in the women’s team competition, and a bronze medal for her performance on the uneven bars.

The rest of the dance cast will be announced on Sept. 8.
