Actress Laverne Cox has quite the resume already, Emmy-award winner, LGBTAIQ2+ activist, and now? She’s a Barbie!
In celebration of her birthday on May 29th, she’s been honoured with a Tribute Collection Barbie.
It’s the first time the iconic doll has ever been made in the in the likeness of a transgender woman.
Mattel worked closely with Cox, to make sure the Barbie not only fit closely with her style, but also LOOKED like her!
In a statement she said: “I can’t wait for fans to find my doll on shelves and have the opportunity to add a Barbie doll modeled after a transgender person to their collection.”
