Mariah Carey wants To Officially Be the "Queen of Christmas"
But two singers are having it!
One of the singers, Elizabeth Chan is trying to stop her. She says, "No one person should hold onto anything around Christmas or monopolize it in the way that Mariah seeks to in perpetuity.”
Last year, Carey and her legal team applied to register the term “Queen of Christmas” as a trademark for her sole usage, complete with exclusive merchandising rights for a wide variety of products including music, fragrances and alcohol.
On Friday, singer Elizabeth Chan (who only performs Christmas music year-round) filed a legal opposition asking the federal trademark office to block Carey’s application.
There’s enough Christmas for everyone! So let’s just share!
